POWER SUPPLY CCTV MENSUPPLY RX580 UNTUK MINING SEDERHANA
Tulisan ini adalah menjawab rasa penasaran saya ketika PC sederhana di rumah saya.
Dirumah saya ada sebuah PC sederhana dengan prosesor i3. Data lengkap adalah sebagai berikut:
- MB buatan Jetway H61M2 .
- Prosesor i3 3020.
- RAM 4GB.
- HDD 1GB.
- Power Supply 450W. Masih belum 80+.
- VGA RX560 4GB.
VGA BARU DATANG
Karena penasaran, maka saya coba mendapatkan sebuah VGA dengan nomer seri RX580 4GB via online.
Selanjutnya VGA ini saya rakit dan tambahkan dengan komputer.
KArena ukuran VGA lebih besar dari ukuran casing komputer, maka harus ada upaya agar VGA ini tetap bisa konek dengan sistim komputer.
VGA baru ini harus menempel pada sebuah riser untuk bisa konek dengan mainboard yang ada PCI 1x nya.
Riser ini wajib ada pada VGA karena casing komputer saya tidak muat untuk memasukkan VGA jumbo ini ke casing saya.
MENGAKALI POWER SUPPLY
Power Supply yang menempel pada komputer masih belum mampu melayani kosumsi dari VGA yang baru terpasang ini.
Kita harus menyediakan sebuah power Supply yang berdaya besar untuk itu.
Saya mengakali dengan menggunakan sebuah power Supplay CCTV yang memiliki kemampuan arus hingga 30A dan bertegangan 12VDC.
Emang bisa ya? jawabnya adalah : BISA.
BAGAIMANA CARANYA?
Begini caranya:
- Tegangan 0 Volt pada Out Power Supplay harus dijadikan satu dengan 0V pada Power Suppai komputer .
- Gunakan relay untuk memberangkatkan secara bersama antara power Supplai komputer dengan Power Suppai VGA.
- Untuk Riser VGA gunakan Power Supplai komputer, sementara untuk VGA pakai power Supplai CCTV saja.
- Lihat foto ini supaya yakin kalau ini memang bisa.
Skema dibawah ini untuk rangkaiannya
PENJELASAN SKEMA POWER CCTV UNTUK VGA
VGA mendapatkan supplai hanya dari Power Supplai CCTV, sedangkan riser mendapatkan supplai dari power mainboard.
Ketika ada listrik masuk, maka Power Supply CCTV masih OFF. Ia OFF karena relay belum menyala.
Saat menyalakan komputer, maka akan ada tegangan supplai 12 Volt dari Power Supply komputer. Ini berarti relay 12VDC akan aktif dan setrum akan masuk ke Power Supply CCTV.
Berarti Power Supply mengeluarkan arus dengan tegangan 12VDC untuk mengaliri VGA.
NOTE: Kita harus menjadikan satu antara 0 V Power Supply CCTV dengan 0V pada power Supply ATX. Kalau tidak akan berakibat BURUK.
MENGUKUR ARUS YANG MASUK KE VGA
Ketika VGA bekerja sebagai penambang, maka ia akan mengambil arus DC yang lumayan besar. Kipas VGA akan berputar dengan cepat untuk mendinginkan Chipset.
Kita bisa memastikan jika panas ini berasal dari arus besar yang masuk ke dalam chipset VGA.
Dengan menggunakan Tang Jepit, maka akan bisa mengetahui berapa arus yang masuk ke VGA card melalui pin 8 dan pin 6 VGA kita.
VGA card mengambil arus sebesar 11,92 Ampere .
Jika kita mengkonversi ke dalam watt adalah 12,5 Volt x 11,92A = 149 Watt DC. Kosumsi daya yang cukup besar.
MENGUKUR DAYA MASUK POWER SUPPLY
Apakah kita kita akan membayar kosumsi VGA ini secara murni ke PLN?
Jawabnya adalah TIDAK.
Power Supply tidak 100% mengubah arus AC ke Arus DC untuk mensupplai VGA.
Kita telah mengetahui bahwa Catu daya ke VGA adalah 149W.
Power Supply memiliki efisiensi selalu dibawah 100%.
Termasuk Power Supplay CCTV ini.
Saya mengukur bahwa arus masuk ke Power Supplay adalah sebesar 1,22 Ampere AC.
Jika kita mengkonversi menjadi daya listrik maka menjadi ( 1,22A : 1,0 ) x 220VAC = 268,4Watt.
1,0 adalah anggapan bahwa Cos Q dari PLN ini adalah sebesar 1,0.
Ini berarti effisiensi Power Supplay ini adalah 149W : 268W = 0,55 = 55%
Sungguh angka yang tidak effisien.
KESIMPULAN
Menggunakan Power Supply CCTV supplai VGA card masih bisa melakukan, akan tetapi effisiensinya lumayan buruk.
Kita harus membayar 268 Watt untuk sebuah VGA yang bekerja menggali koin dengan daya 149 Watt.
Berarti mesti memperhitungkan kembali untuk menggunakannya.
Solusi terbaik adalah kita menggunakan Power Supplay type 80+.
Akan tetapi harga untuk memperoleh power supply jenis ini mesti dipertimbangkan.
